I am writing in regards to Item#66221241839 – description 26 GLS VASE W/SLVNP - Price $34.99 ea tax. On the receipt we purchased 2 of the above vases at time of check out the sales clerk wrapped the top with 2 sheets of paper and the bottom of vase with 1 sheet paper and was put into the large thin plastic Garden Ridge bag.

On Saturday April 9th these vases were going to be used and as the vase was being put onto the table it was brushed slightly against the wall and the very top rim of the vase broke please note we had not even taken the vase out of the original paper or bag the store clerk wrapped it in. After viewing the two vases we noticed that the wall thickness of the one broken was so much thinner than the other vase and reason why it broke so easily. We believe this to be a flaw in the vase itself.

My husband and I returned the vase back to Garden Ridge on April 9th and explained as stated above and was told that no refund or exchange was allowed on broken glass/vase the manager’s curt response was this was typical with glass and his hands were tied and there was nothing he could do as this was policy ordered by corporate. The manager addressed us from another register with another customer standing in front of us. When we asked the name of the store manager the clerk said his name is Dennis and that she was not allow to give out last name of the manager. We asked for a phone # for corporate and we were given a small strip of paper with an email address. If we had dropped the vase and it shattered we would not dream of returning it for a refund but this was just brushed slightly and should not have broken easily. We are not asking for our money back just a replacement.
