Misleading Bait-and-Switch Job Ad

Miscellaneous

The interview experience is exactly what I expected. It was in some cheap old building with small offices and shi*y plastic chairs with a dozen of other highschool/college age amatuers. The posters on the walls were just a bunch of butch paper written in markers, you know, the kinds of butch paper you would find hanging on the walls of a kindergarten class? These posters had sales contest activities and salepersons names written all over them.
All I can say from my interview experience is they are very misleading! How they got me hooked is their email advertisment said the base rate is $15/hour. What they didn't told me is it's $15/appointment because an appointment usually lasts an hour. Not only were their ad misleading, they did not care for my time. I knew I had to get somewhere after the supposely 90 minute interview/presentation. The whole interview process took more than two hours because I wasn't being interviewed alone, I was being interviewed with groups of other people. I asked the young women who worked there if I could leave my application and they wouldn't take it and told me if I leave my chances of getting accepted is slim. It's disgusting how they make you feel guilty and used a scare tactic to get you to stay. I told them okay and left without hesitation. I thanked them for their gratitude but they never acknowledged me (b*hes).
If you are curious what was discussed during the presentation, here's a breakdown: You earn $15 per appointment. If you make 20 appointments, you'll earn $250 even if you didn't make a sell. But the catch is you wont get $250 in total, you'll get 10% of that or $25 until you work your way up.
10% x $250 = $25
15% x $250 = $37.5 - make $1,000 in sales to get to this level
20% x $250 = $50 - make $3,000 in sales to get to this level
25% x $250 = $62.5 - make $6,000 in sales to get to this level
30% x $250 = $75 - make $10,000 in sales to get to this level
*The maximum percentage you can earn is 50%.
To get started, you are required to put money down for your own set of knives which are a 75% discount that will only cost you $149. You could also borrow to get the knives by putting in a 25% security deposit.

Very energetic and almost pathetic immediate hiring process, Admin to set up a next day interview and doesn't tell you anything else but that it's always a solid $15 base per appointment
