Tx1000 Laptop Failed After One Year, Repair Quoted at $300

I bought a laptop from hp in 09 from US - model is Tx1000. It's stopped working after 1 year. When I checked with the customer care
They are ready to repair it for $300 since the warranty is over. But when I searched in internet I found 1000s of report saying the model is faulty and all people bought this model facing the same issue as me. I am from India and the HP service center out here are saying they are not supporting this model. I don't know what to do with this laptop.
