Overbooked Hotel - Ticketing and reservations

Made a hotel reservation on Travelocity.com for 3 nights. Received an email confirming the same. Yet when I checked in the hotel it was overbooked and they could only accommodate me for 1 night. I had to return home as the all the hotels in that city were full due to a large soccer tournament.
