Capital One Account Purchase Claim for an Account I Never Had

I received a letter from Midland Credit Management saying the just purchased my Capital One account. The problem with this is I have NEVER had any type of account with Capital One. The letter states I owe 1,330.72 and they are offering me a 50% discount on this balance. I will also be filing a report on Capital One, because I contacted them about this matter and they have as of today not responded to my inquiry. On 7/09, I sent Midland Credit Management a Debt Validation letter, by certified mail, demanding to see all receipts, the purchase contract and the chain of title deeds. I think these clowns prey on those of us trying to rebuild our credit, and they need to be stopped from sending false collection letters.
