Rainsoft - Discovery Marketing
Ripoff and not suppling a valid license when requested

Miscellaneous

I live in St. Augustine Florida. I just recently in April purchased a house. I have well water out where I live. One day someone called from a company called Discovery Marketing. They were a local distributor of Rainsoft located in Orlando, fla and Bunnel, Florida. They showed up on a Thursday morning and by the next morning they were installing the unit. I couldnt believe they just started installing it without a contract or asking if I wanted it where they were putting it. I have numerous problems with this company starting from that installation date. I have tons of pictures showing how they installed it and how they left my house that night with the 200 gallon water tank leaning to one side. As part of our package deal they were to install a air master. Which in lames terms means "air purifier"

They installed this incorrectly too. They didn't tape the main supply line after cutting into it and tons of insulation was sucked in to the intake line causing my outside air unit to the main AC/Heat was frozen. After numerous calls requesting them to come look at my ac unit and after a number times that they rescheduled me they finally came out to fix it. This was4 months later. The two techs that touched my duct work were unable to get the main supply line attached again before they could leave and they offered for me to please allow a 24 hour Heating and AC company to fix it. Over 24 hours later a local reputable Heating and Air came out and installed a new main supply like to my AC and confirmed what they installed was still incorrect and that my outside unit is still inoperable to the full capacity.

I called today 09/13/06 asking why it takes so long to get a manager to call because I still have an inoperable unit and the Air Handler that was supposed to be installed correctly is still not right. After being treated like I was stupid the Manager Steve agreed that He would talk to his companions and let me know within a few days what they could do.

I work for the County and I walked down to the Building Department to ask if this company is allowed to work on AC's. And the answer is NO. If they do not have an HVAC license they cannot touch anything to do with my Duct work etc. I called them back three time this morning and no one will give me the information I am asking about what license they have to install my "air master" a gentleman named Steve said he would call me back. I have still heard no response. I have been sick numerous times along with my toddlers. I have outrageous power bill from the distruction of my outside unit due to the insulation being suck through the wrong lines and being taped incorrectly. I can never get a direct answer from anyone. I have to pay monthly for something that doesnt work and I DO NOT want this to happen to anyone else. I have asked for a refund or discount to be sent to my lender but they just wont respond or return to my house to see what is STILL WRONG!!!
