Unexpected payment demand after account was cancelled and refunded

Not sure if this is a scam or not, but I had a phone message saying they were Securus Technologies and that we owed a payment that must be paid immediately. The thing is, we cancelled our account about six weeks ago and were refunded the balance. When I tried to contact Securus Technologies I could not reach a live person, and the recording kept saying we did not have an account. Is this a scam trying to get money from us?
