Miscellaneous

When I moved I wanted to set up a new line of service. I was told that my current line could be merged with a family plan so that I would not have to cancel the first line and be penalized. I agreed and the joint account was set up. I no longer used the first line so all the minutes for that plan went to the new line. My bills were always very expensive but I was so busy that I just paid them. After almost a year, I looked into it and the representative noticed that the family plan had been created but the original line had also been left open and I had been paying for two accounts for a year. She told me that they would issue me a refund and cancel the second line. I received a partial refund and told I had to wait for the rest. Another couple of months went by and I called again. This time I discovered that the second line had STILL not been cancelled. I was able to cancel the second line finally, received the refund for the second portion of the first overbilling and was told I was not responsible for the second incident of overbilling. I closed the account and switched to Verizon. Sprint came after me for the second overbilling balance and said they had no record of the incident when I tried to fight it. Now they have handed my account over to a collection agency and it is a mark on my credit. HORRIBLE experience that has been extremely detrimental to me.
