Cancelled service without proper notification and continued to bill!

We had service for two years paying bills timely with occasional unexplained lapses of service. I would have to call that garbage wasn't being picked up for weeks and then it would restart without any credit given for no pick up. Then this April they stopped coming again. I received the next quarter bill and called to find out the service was canceled, although I was still being billed and had paid for service that wasn't provided. They couldn't give me a clear explanation did not do it in writing and somehow it was my fault they had my phone number wrong. I was told they weren't providing service in the area any more (not true), that it was a gas cost issue, or that I didn't have my containers outside (they were always out), depending on who I spoke with. Don't know how they expect to stay in business!!!
