Deceptive Practices - HR retirement management services

I am a former employee of McGraw-Hll.
Hewitt manages the retirement and 401k plans.

I went to the benefits page and began the the pension payment process. The website said I could start receiving benefit May 1. On the same date I spoke with a Hewitt associate to start the process and that individual told me that May 1 was indeed a date I could start receiving benefit and sent me the paperwork via snailmail. I received the documentation which which gave a May 1 date as well. I returned the documentation via fax the next day.

Fast forward to April 30, I received a letter via snail mail stating the first payment would be June 1, not May 1.

I called customer service and was told by Amber that I had missed a cut off date for applying. The cut off date she gave me was 8 days before the date I visited the website, spoke with the first customer rep and 9 days before the paperwork listing a May 1 date. If there really was a cutoff date, why was it not mentioned by the website, the initial customer service rep or in the paperwork.

I asked to speak to a supervisor. Amber transferred me to Lance who she said was a supervisor. He was just another customer rep. Amber had lied to me. Lance also told me I had missed the cutoff date, but it was different by 16 days than that given me by Amber. So either Lance or Amber or both are lying regarding a cutoff date. Next I got a fellow by the name of Johann who is supposedly a supervisor (probably isn't). Johann said he would have someone of authority call back by 9:30. It is now 10:15. These people are not ethical. You cannot rely on any statement as being reliable.

I am still waiting for a straight answer to my inquiries.
