Hewitt Associates Inc
Flexible Spending Reiumbusement Policies

Miscellaneous

Through our employer, Hewitt Associates Inc manages certain benefits plan including medical and also, flexible spending account. The Flexible Spending Account (FSA) is one of the benefit, which the employee sets aside, out of each employees salary pre-tax dollars, to cover for medically related expenses. I have set aside "X" dollars to cover for various medical expenses, based on the medical assessments 2008. These coverage include, OTC medicine, co-payments for medicals, etc.

From January until now, Hewitt Associates have denied reimbursements, and repeatedly, regularly, and systematically sent "form" letters that my receipts are insufficient. I have sent them clarified receipts. All the receipts that I have submitted have the party, date of service, the amount and the purpose. One doctor's receipt, which has his address, telephone number, date of service, amount was denied. Another, OTC medicine such as aspirin, tylenol that was purchased from wholesale dept store and speicifically "circled" to show distinctions, were also denied. The orthotics were denied. The acupuncture treatments for pain management was denied. The pain therapy as recommended by a neurologist and by two physicians were also denied. The herbologist and the medicine that was specifically designed for me was also denied, even when the receipts clearly state the details. Some of these were reimbursed two years prior and this year, they are not. There is inconsistencies of statement. I have submitted a prescription from my doctor and also another treating physician, who outlined all the comprehensive medical treatments that are required.

I have submited faxes, letters etc. Etc repeatedly, but the customer service in India can't explain this, and has not resolved these issues. Rather, the service is entirely poor. IAs of today, my employer continues to deduct money out of my paycheck for this purpose.

I have found out today through Hewitt representattive, that the policy that they follow is the customers and also the federal law. If the money that I set aside is unused, it goes back to my employer.in other words, if they deny and make it difficult to make reimbursments, the money that my employer deducts out of my paycheck benefits the employer, who ultimately also pays Hewitt for their services. This seems little odd to me, that they can call this a " benefit" when in fact, it's way to keep employees from excercising their right to claim and get reimbursement that are due.

These should not be called "benefits" when in fact, its an elaborate method to cut costs at the expense of the employee.

I want my reimbursements, or don't deduct money.
