Hewlett Packard
HP Sold defective product

Internet & Web

In FEB of I bought an HP Touchsmart IQ524. Within the first 6 months of having the computer, the hard drive failed out of the blue. Since it was still under the manufacturer warranty, I had it replaced by HP. However, another 6 months has gone by and the hard drive has failed again. Luckily, I bought an extended warranty at the time of purchase, so this will also be replaced at no cost. The problem is that I have no doubt that the hard drive will continue to fail. The company that manufactuers the hard drive is called Seagate and they have already acknowleged their hard drives were defective and offered anyone who was affected by it a free data recovery service, but you have to have bought the hard drive separately to qualify. What a joke! But HP continues to use the same hard drives as replacements and I'm proof that that the replacements are defective as well. There needs to be a recall of these computers! I am so mad that the most expensive computer I've ever owned has turned out to be a piece of crap.
