Billing ripoff beat them at their own game!

Internet & Web

Are you tired of being billed for accounts that were supposed to be cancelled? My advice is to beat AOL at it's own game.

I first used AOL on a trial basis using one of those free discs. When I called to cancel, they offered me another month free. So I accepted. I never intended to pay for the service, but if I could get it for free, why not?

I have been using AOL for years AND I HAVE NEVER PAID ONE DIME! Every time I call in to cancel I complain about one thing or another and then they tell me about the great NEW Version that I HAVE To Try.

The best thing is now they no longer offer just one month free, but two or three months at a time. As long as I remember to call in a couple days before the billing date, I'll probably get AOL indefinately for FREE!

Think it's too much hassle to call in every month? Would you rather worry about paying the bill every month? And as far as dealing with the consultants, they LOVE people who actually buy into their "just try it" sermon. Telling a consultant that you will keep the service makes their day (and probably their pay check).

I had actually felt bad thinking I was cheating AOL out of all that money. But from what I've read about their little scams, maybe it's just like the saying goes: "What goes around comes around."
