Dishonest, fraudulent billing ripoff

I was a member to netzero internet for about a year, paying the $9.95 that netzero charges on a monthly basis. After about a year however, I switched my internet to dsl service; and I called netzero to cancell my subcricption with them. Upon cancellation, netzero gave me a confirmation number to verify that my account had been cancelled.

After not being billed for a month, however, netzero began billing my account (debit card) for a period of 3 month. I didn't noticed the billing earlier due to the fact that, since I don't use that account too often, I only check it for accuracy every 2 or three month.

When I called netzero to ask why they billed me without my permision, they said that it was because, when I called to cancelled, the person cancelling my account offer me a free month, and I accepted it. I remember I never accepted the free month however: first of all, I did not needed (I had DSL); and second, I don't accept "free and without abligation" material from big companies (unless I know that I am willing to pay for the service later on), because I know that there is usually always something behind it.

As I learned throught this site, I am not the only one that netzero tried to rip-off this way.
