Ordered laptop for Christmas, now Delayed, Terrible customer service as usual

Yes, we are a victim of Dell's poor ability to followthrough with their delivery dates. We ordered a laptop on Dec 6th and were told it would arrive Dec 19th. On Dec 19th we received an email stating that it would not arrive till Jan 6th. I called their notorious India branch apparently, and they have now stated it would not be delivered till Jan 8th.

I asked to speak to someone above them and of course that could not happen. It drives me crazy how they have their response scripts typed up for them in order to avoid TRUE customer service. I called another number to cancell and now that person said I could not. I asked to speak to that person's supervisor and he stated he would tell me the same thing., I kindly stated that the company has poor customer service and I still want to speak to his supervisor and I would not hang up until I do so. And guess what??? That person hung up on ME. Wonderful. I wonder if Dell has told them to hang up on people when they state this on the phone.

We have chosen UBUNTU and Dell is one of the only companies who will ship it preinstalled. We have had a horrible history with needing technical support. From what I am reading in the past complaints on this website, this company is very deceptive in numerous areas, financial services, customer services, delivery of proper and correct products, timeliness of delivery (being upfront with customers-deceptive I believer to get more people to purchase for Christmas and then not be able to produce when stated). I wonder if reporting this to the media might prompt better business practices.
