Failed to cancel after calling the automated system. Billed after phone was disconnected for the first time

Internet & Web

I set up Netzero using Cosmi Internet protection software. The software was difficult to use. So I uninstalled Netzero and Cosmi and never used it again. No actual E-mails were ever sent or received during this short time. I immediately called the number provided to cancel via the automated phone system. It confirmed the cancellation with a voice recording. Then, after moving and changing phone numbers, I start getting billed to my old phone company from Netzero. I'm told after calling the 1-866-841-1442 and speaking with a representative that I now have a past due balance. I'm told to go to billing@support.netzero.com to dispute it.

After reviewing the phone bills with my old phone company, it was discovered that no charges were made until after I'd discontinued my service and moved. Now, I need Netzero to give me a confirmation number so that these charges will be reversed before the phone company. Again, the only charges that were ever made came after I'd moved and disconnected my service. I originally signed up and tried back in April only for a day or so. I don't know what I had for an E-mail address or password. Plus, I've been paying for a separate Internet service this entire time. How do I get these charges dropped?
