Charged me $25.00 for a cancellation fee when I had a free trial Ripoff

Signed up with Netzero for a month free trial. Called Netzero back before the month was up and told them that the system did not run as expected and I would like to cancel. The lady I talked to said she would set me up with HiSpeed Netzero and give me another free month trial. She also mentioned the more I used it the faster it would get.

I tried Netzero once again and called back within days to tell them I wanted to cancel as Netzero is not what I expected. I cancelled their service and was given a confirmation number and was told that the service was cancelled with no charge.

While in the process of checking my bank account, I noticed a $25.00 charge from Netzero. I called Netzero and asked why I had a charge when have cancelled their service. They told me that it was a cancellation fee. I then told them that I had two free trials and that I shouldn't have been charged anything.

The person on the phone agreed that I shouldn't have been charged but told me that in order to get the charge reversed, I would have to file a report at Billing@Support.netzero.com because they couldn't do it over the phone.

What kind of business practice is this if they can take your money over the phone but cannot give refunds.
