Internet & Web

Spedia is an Internet company that promises to pay you for surfing the web. You are required to run a "SpediaBar" software program on your computer while you are surfing. The SpediaBar displays advertisements. You are supposed to get paid for the time that you are actively surfing and running the SpediaBar.

My wife diligently used the SpediaBar and accumulated enough points to request a check. She followed the procedures and requested payment. That payment was to be a check in the amount of $30.76 which was to be mailed to her in March. The check never appeared.

After several e-mails and telephone calls, she did receive an e-mail in May that said that Spedia would stop payment on the check that was supposedly sent and would send a replacement check. That check never appeared.

Repeated attempts at contacting Spedia regarding the replacement check have been futile. There has been no reply.interestingly, Spedia states on its web site that it is not responsible for lost or stolen mail and that it cannot make stop payments. I wonder how many other people have not received checks from Spedia.
