Home Depot
Wood Cedar Siding replacement on 2 sides of my house

Furniture & Equipment

I inquired at the Home Depot store in Downers Grove if they had any contractors interested replacing the wood cedar siding on 2 sides of my house that was weather damaged and needed to be replaced. A person from Home Depot came out to inspect the house. We talked and he wanted to see if I was interested in doing new siding for the entire house. I told him I was not interested because it was more than I wanted to spend at this time although I kind of got the impression that was what he wanted because he repeatedly asked about siding the entire house. After looking over the wood he called someone to see if they could do the job. He said they could and so he estimated the square footage and said he would contact me with pricing. I did not hear back from him for 2 weeks and called to follow up. He then told me on the phone they could NOT do the job. I told him I was surprised because when he left he was going to get me pricing on the job which he confirmed with a phone call to someone that they could do it. I was extremely DIsappointed that I was led on by Home Depot wasting my time; and not having the courtesy to follow up and tell me what was going on. My impression is Home Depot is anxious to "upsell" but not realy interested in linking customers with contractor who can do the work being asked for.
