Dont use them for installs! - Home Depot delivery & installation department - Greater San Diego area

This review is not about the store, it is about Home Depot s delivery/install department. I purchased a dishwasher on 5/5 and paid for Home Depot to deliver, install, and haul-away the old unit. The truck arrived as promised but then the problems started. These guys had ZERO interest in installing a dishwasher that day. First thing one of them did was look under the sink and say "yep, was afraid of that, those valves rust and break off. I'm not touching that valve". Ok, first thing is this valve is 4 years old and made of brass and stainless steel. Where does this dummy see valves that rust?

So next, my tenant reaches under the sink and says that the valve turns fine. They unscrewed the water fitting and the valve was working just fine. Wow, big surprise. So once that didn't work, they looked under the sink and said that there's water damage and they cant install the dishwasher. The water damage they are referring to is caused by a water getting under the tile surface and dripping onto the cabinet floor. I need to replace the caulking around the sink... Which has nothing to do with the dishwasher. It lives in its own space next to the sink.

The delivery duo left the new dishwasher in the dining room and gave me 30 days to repair the damage and they will come back out and install it. I think not. I live out of state and thought that Home Depot San Diego would hire competent installers. It appears this isn't the case. I will drive to San Diego, silicone the sink, change out the faucet, and install the dishwasher.

I called Home Depot customer service and asked them why they wont install the dishwasher when the leak is not from any plumbing. The person I spoke with called the install department and they wouldn't budge.

BEWARE OF HAVING HOME DEPOT INSTALL ANYTHING IN YOUR HOME! YOU ARE PROBABLY WASTING YOUR TIME. A good friend of mine is cleaning up from a flood in their house after Home Depot installed new toilets. The water fitting into the toilet broke (probably put on too tight) and it rained water from the 2nd story where they were gone. Over $10,000 in damage.
