Wrong 9-year water heater installed, paid $463 for replacement

We purchased a 12-year GE tall water heater from Home Depot in March. We also paid Home Depot to deliver and install it. Now it is July and the water heater has developed a leak due to corrosion.
When I contacted Home Depot for a replacement, I found out that Home Depot had installed a 9-year GE short water heater instead. They would not honor the warranty on my receipt. I had to pay $463 for a new water heater, and I want my money refunded.
