Carpet Quote Changed on Padding and Yardage After Measuring

I was looking for a carpet for my bedroom. I came to a Home Depot store in NE Philadelphia. I found the carpet I liked and went to the flooring department to set up a time for installation. A sales rep told me that I would have to buy padding along with the carpet if I wanted it installed by a technician from that store. I asked how much it would cost and was told that the cheapest one would be $67 per roll. I did my math and agreed to pay a $35 measurement fee toward installation. I was also told that a person from the measurement department would come on Monday around 4 pm. (I work until 3:30.)
However, on Monday morning at 7:30, I got a call from the measurement department saying he would be at my place between 10:30 and 1:30 pm. What is the point of scheduling a service if they do not keep the appointment? It took me all Monday to reschedule the measurement. I had to call the store 3 times, and the guys from the flooring department would simply hang up on me. I also tried to reach a store manager, but had no luck whatsoever. Anyway, I finally got the service rescheduled for Tuesday. On Tuesday a guy came, took all the measurements and told me that someone from the office would contact me shortly.
On Wednesday I got a call from the office and was told that I actually have to buy a more expensive padding (not the one for $67). The reason is that the installers want to use their padding and not the one the store rep showed me the first time. Moreover, I was told that I have to pay for 24.5 sq yards of carpet instead of the actual size of my room, 19 sq yards. So I tried to get an explanation of what kind of magic happened to increase a 19 sq yard room to 24.5 sq yards. A lady from the flooring department was not nice and told me that they would do my carpet in 4 pieces with seams. I had never been told about this the first time. She finally hung up on me with no explanation. I reached a store manager on duty and got a poor explanation that the carpet I had chosen could not be installed in one piece.
I do not want to deal with this store anymore. I will never buy anything from them and will never recommend their service to anyone. I feel that I have been taken advantage of because I am a woman. They think that if I am a female, I do not understand how things work. So disappointed. This is not the customer service that a customer should get when paying for service and product. I went to Lowe's instead and was very happy with their service! Shame on Home Depot.
