Carpet Measurer Claimed 44 Square Yards When I Measured 36

I went to Home Depot to buy carpet with installation. By my own measurement I needed 36 square yards, but the person they sent to measure came back with 44 square yards, and I was told I would have to buy that amount if Home Depot did the installation. Their plan would also have produced two seams. Instead I ordered 36 square yards, hired my own installer, and the carpet went in with no seams at all.
