My son's aunt and the other family members pooled their money and purchased a gift card for both our kids who live in a different state, for Christmas. My daughters arrived before Christmas but my son's never arrived. Toys R Us was contacted multiple times and stated it should arrive this day and that day... Several times. It never came and my son called it. He said if it hasn't come yet it won't be coming (he is 8). Toys R Us never sent it and it never shipped. They told his aunt they could send it today (1/5) and they would give her free shipping. Needless to say - she declined the generous offer and we will be doing something else for him. Her family and ours will be doing our Christmas shopping elsewhere. It just left a lasting mark. The lack of care for customer service will be reflected in the net worth total returns oh so quickly in this economy I'm sure. Rome fell and reading all these multiple similar experiences is the foreshadowing of doom.
