Family Members Favored Over Hard-Working Seasonal Staff

At the Toys R Us in Stevenage, UK, they chose to recruit family members, like the daughter of a supervisor called Rachel, and the worst thing is that everybody was so friendly with her. The other staff who were working hard did not have a chance to get a permanent job there. They made the Christmas staff feel miserable and no one talked with them. I know that companies cannot recruit family members, but why do they do so there?
