Mouse Keeps Leaving Text Window on Windows 7 Desktop

I have called Geek Squad 2 times since I had the service both times there was no help - just send someone out. The one with the TV and laptop I understand to some extent but this PC issue ridiculous. I have a mouse that will not stay in the text window on a windows 7 desk top. The problem is listed out on the net however I have been unable to fix myself.
