AT&T Wireless
ATT, ATT Wireless Unauthorized Charges & Contract violations

Electronics and household app.

When signing for a new contract, AT&T through one of the vendors offered a promotion on the Internet Service of $10 a month for the length of the contract. After 6 months into the service, AT&T bumped up the charges to $15 without notifying or getting my consent. After 3 months of increased charges and noticing the bump in my cell phone bill, when I called they said that they sent a text message about this discrepancy but I never remembered getting it. They also mentioned that per the contract that I signed they have the right to make any corrections as they seem necessary and they dont need my consent. If I wanted to cancel the contract, then I would be charged the cancellation fee and they can charge the additional $5 for the 6 months that they provided at a discounted rate. The Tech supervisor was rude and also mentioned that per the contract I dont have the right to sue since I have acknowledged I will go through a arbitrator in case of any issues.
Their code of ethics suggests that they would treat their customers fairly but to me this is a violation since they did not have the courtesy to call and check with me before making changes to the terms and conditions of the contract. I am pretty sure that this is standard practice and others are affected by this and are probably unaware or dont know how to take action against the corporate giant.
