Directv rip off of refer a friend, liars and cheats thats all they are secret location for security? Internet, nationwide

My issue is no different from any of the others, I spent 6 hours setting up a directv deal for my father at his home. (that includes being there for the install to try to make sure nothing went wrong). The sales folks were all good with the referal rebates for both of us, I got all the numbers necessary, searched the mail for the next 4 weeks for the three different rebate forms we needed to fill out and send in. It seems the rebate just vaporized!!! No record of it. I think I spent too much time trying to be sure they were not going to rip me off that they pocketed the money for themselves. I have since scrapped my directv but unfortunately my dad is stuck with his due to the agreement in fine print that they can draft any money they deem necessary from his checking. Why is everything so difficult? If we will not react to the hype of free stuff maybe the monopolies will just offer fair pricing or is that out of the question. I hope to add the names and numbers of everyone I spoke with soon.
