PSP, Playstation Ripped Off on Warranty

My son's were both bought Sony PSP hand held video game systems for Christmas.in March one of them died completely, and the door that you close to put the video game in on the other stopped closing.

I called Sony to find out how I could have this fixed since they are both still under warranty. I also told them that they were bought by two different family members, and I did not have the reciept for either of them. I was told at this time that in order for them to fix them I would have to pay 89.95 per unit, plus taxes and fees. The systems themselves cost almost that much. They said they can not tell from the serial number when and where it was bought and told me I should go to the store and ask for another recipet... Hmmmmm 5 months later I am sure any walmart is gonna have a copy of a reciept from christmas time.

I find this very amusing since when my nintendo DS broke a couple months ago, I called nintendo they looked up the serial number, told me when and where it was purchased, sent me a packing box and labels, I sent it in and they fixed it and sent it back, at no cost to myself since it was under warranty.

I refuse pay $180.00 to fix 2 hand held game systems that broke within a couple months of getting them. Its no wonder you see so little of the PSP cause it is a big waste of money.

I did however find a gentleman who can fix these systems. He is charging me 15. For the broken door, and about the same for the dead one if it can be fixed. It will void my warranty with the Sony company, but geuss what, they never intended to honor the warranty unless they made more money any way.

Do not buy a psp they are a rip off buy nintendo instead at least they honor their warranty. I will never buy sony again, and i intended to tell anyone who will listen my story.
