Gave Me Wrong Phone

My two-year agreement with Verizon Wireless was up so I went to the Verizon Wireless store to renew and get new phones. We spent twenty minutes checking out every phone before deciding and another twenty waiting for service. We told them which phones we wanted and the sales person said one of the phones would be free because of a special they were having on the LG Dare. We had the phones activated and bought all the extras she said we would need for my daughter's Dare.

After leaving the store I took out my phone and realized it was the wrong one. I immediately returned to the store and explained my situation to another sales rep named Heather. She said they would get me the correct phone and exchange them, but when she checked, she found that the phone I requested was out of stock. She recommended that I use the phone they gave me and call back after Christmas to resolve the situation. She gave me her card and we left.

After Christmas, I returned to the store and explained the situation again. I was told that they were not getting anymore Samsung u-550s (even though they still had it displayed that day) and I would have to keep the LG-5500 which they gave me or buy another phone as the special only covered the LG-5500. That would have been fine, but then they said I would have to pay $40.00 to transfer my service to the new phone. I disagreed with this but they would not drop the fee. I ended up leaving with the LG-5500, a phone I never wanted but I am now stuck with for two years because of their incompetence.

I am usually a very patient person and I can understand the salesperson misunderstood because of the special and mixed up the u-550 with the LG-5500, even though I mentioned I hadn't had any problems in two years with my previous phone and that's why I was sticking with Samsung. I understand the new phone will not be free because it is not the one in the LG Dare special but I refuse to pay additional fees to fix their mistake when I was told to use the phone until they could get the other one in their store. I don't think she purposely switched the phones just to make the sale but when there is a two-year agreement involved, I should at least get to choose the phone I want.
