Told to Upgrade DVR With Two Year Contract, Feature Unavailable

Electronics and household app.

I had a DVR R10 and was trying to transfer content from my DVR to my laptop for viewing later while traveling, or to download it to my iPod. Customer service told me that I would not be able to do this with the present model of DVR and that I would have to upgrade to the newer model (R15). I was told that I would have to pay for the upgraded receiver, or I could agree to a two-year contract that would allow me to receive the receiver at no charge.

When I installed the receiver and requested additional help to set up the DVR to record to my PC, I was told that this was not an option available with the new receiver. I asked if I could send the receiver back and remove the contract, and I was told that the contract was binding (even though the product was misrepresented). This is not acceptable to me.
