DISH Network Installation and Sales company ripoff

This is a formal complaint which i filed with federal trade commission today, as well as the texas attorney general.

Yesterday evening a young man came to my door with your company named Brandon Thurman. I explained to him I already had Direct TV scheduled to be installed this A.M., He showed me the savings I could have with DISH and told me he could get me out of the Direct TV thing so I agreed to have Dish Network installed in my home thru Atlas 8/8/07 for 49.99/mo of which 49.99 was to be charged to my debit card.

We were told it was not necessary for us to be home as long as an 18 year old was home to sign for the installation which she was. Your Installer came and installed and left a huge mess, the installation was a joke; we had wires lying all over the place inside and out. As well as damage on the roof to our home, when asked he stated that his ladder was not long enough to reach where he needed to put it so he just put it where he could and we could tuck the wires away ourselves, not my problemyour installers should have proper equipment to the job, the young man who SOLD the service was in my home for more htan an hour, he knew it was a large two story.

My daughter called after they were done and told us about the mess. We went home for lunch, and found the mess. We immediately called customer service and they sent the installer back out and he offered no solution just excusesarguing with my husband, my husband had him pull everything out, we called back to customer service and they told us we would have to pay cancellation fee.

Now they say we owe you $340 cancellation fee and no one will confirm that all equipment was returned and tell my you can charge us for that too. I had to call and cancel my bank card so that this charge would not be put thru my account.

We have filled a damage claim with you as well. I want this debt cleared and restitution for damage to my roof. We will be getting estimates for the repairs and my husband took pictures. I have also filed a formal complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and plan to notify the Texas Attorney General of these poor business tactics as well. DISH network has agreed to waive all fees associated with this situation and sincerely apologized for this mishap.

Please do the right thing and waive your cancellation fee along with any other charges your company may try to collect from me.
