Ripoff online Company cancelled order after it realized the special price was good in-store only

On the day after Thankgiving 11/25 @4AM I placed an order for a camcorder for the special sale price for $249. I receive an order confirmation # after billing the camcorder to my Best Buy credit card. I went about the rest of my day thinking my camcorder was purchased, but to my suprise I was informed my order was cancelled because they couldn't verify my information.

When I call Best Buy as to why my order was cancelled, I was first told that they couldn't verify my credit card info. So called the credit card division and was told the camcorder was billed on my credit card and my credit was OK. I then called Best Buy back and was then told that the item was oversold because they were extreamely busy online that morning.

I then asked them what camcorder they would substitute for the one which was oversold. I was told they couldn't substitute any at that price. I asked to speak to a supervisor and I was told they would just tell me the same thing. I finally did talk to a supervisor and she took all my info to have a resolve center supervisor call me back to resolve my complaint.

This morning the supervisor called me back and tried to substitute a camcorder which was a much lessor quality for $50 more than the one I ordered. This was the item regular sale price and not a special black Friday price. Even after explaining that if best Buy wouldn't have confirmed my order online, I would have been able to buy a camcorder at one of their competators for a comparable price. I was told that was all she could do for me.

I also asked her why the order was cancelled and was told the sale on this item was supposed to be in-store only. Beware Best Buy doesn't back their mistakes. The $150 they are saving today, will cost them my business for life and any other customer who doesn't want to deal with a company who operates under fair price policies.
