Confirmed my order for camcorder, knew it was christmas gift, didn't tell me it was backordered Blank

I ordered camcorder on internet, and confirmed order by phone in response to e-mail from company. Expressed concern about shipping because the camcorder is a christmas present, was not told there was any problem.
Three days later tried to status order by phone, 800 number busy all day. Sent e-mail requesting status — no response. After two more days reached customer service by phone, informed camcorder is backordered.
I cancelled order and now it is too late to get camcorder for christmas withou;t spending double the advertised amount. The camcorder is still listed for sale on website and the price has changed almost daily. This company is ripoff personified.
