Money taken from debit card after cancelling and moving

I had purchased Direct TV for my home 4 years ago, and I was moving, so I called Direct TV and let them know that I no longer wanted the satellite dish.

They told me okay. This was last May. Well, they continue taking money out of my checking account (debit card, because that is how I paid my bill).

When I called them this month and asked them why money was taken out, they told me that I never canceled, but I did. So I told them that I now have Comcast and never removed the dish from my roof.

They said it was my loss, and that they have no way of knowing if I was telling the truth. When I asked for a refund, they told me they can't go back that far and I would just have to lose that money.

To think that you trust people who shouldn't take money from your account, when you call and cancel and they knew I moved, is beyond me. I have learned a good lesson now, and I will never trust companies anymore, when it cost me a total of 900.00.
