Zire, Handspring, Tungsten ripoff 1 Little Battery costs $100 bucks & loss of PDA for 1 Month give me a break

Electronics and household app.

I've been a faithful customer and consumer by owning seven different Palm Pilots. Two each of the Palm IIIe's, one Handspring, one M105 & one M130, one Zire 32 & one Zire 72. The last three mentioned use non-user friendly ion-lithium rechargeable batteries, Palm One told me if I wanted to get my battery fixed or replaced in my M130 it would cost me one hundred dollars and about 30 days of time back and forth through the snail mail system. This is unacceptable the batteries used cost under 10 bucks through places like Batteries Plus. The kicker to all this is I have to pay for shipping both ways and insurance so just incase they mess it up or lose it. So now my initial investment of $ 199.99 is closer to $ 350.00 for a 8MB hard drive PDA with 128MB maximum card expansion.

In my opinion they are doing everything in their power to scare consumers away. My Zire 72 is a very capable PDA with built in camera, I'm a disabled Veteran and I use it for taking pictures of my Professor's notes on the blackboard, the VA is sending me to school and I do not have $ 150 bucks to dole out for a single battery. These folks are money-grabbing hoodlums.
