HOME DEPOT EXTENDED PROTECTION PLAN FRAUD - Home Depot At Home Services

Home Depot does not stand behind their products. I bought 4 LG appliances, including a refrigerator, from Home Depot in League City, TX. After a year of use, the bottom of the plastic freezer bin busted out, so I tried to submit an online claim. After spending time registering all 4 appliances, the system would not take my claim. So, I called the Home Depot Protection Plan folks, who at first told me to call the manufacturer, athough the manufacturer warranty had already expired. Afterwards, they claimed they would not cover the basket, since the freezer still works and further claimed the damage is merely cosmetic. I tried to explain to the rep, the supervisor (Leah), and the Manager (Amanda) that the basket cannot hold food due to the hole in the bottom, and they all gave me the run around, make speculation that I must have put too much weight in the basket, etc. My recommendation: DONT BUY FROM HOME DEPOT as they do not honor their agreements as does Sears, Circuit City, Best Buy, etc. I plan to complain to the store manager, and perhaps the Better Business Bureau, in the coming days, but suspect I'll get more runaround from Home Depot.
