We purchased all new LG appliances 1 month ago. Two weeks ago I spilled some of the filling as I put a pumpkin pie into the top oven. The bottom oven door was closed but some of the pumpkin went thru the vents on the closed door and in between the glass in that door. I called LG customer service and was told to turn on the self clean - All that did was bake it onto the glass even more. Eventually they made an appt. With a local appliance repair to take the door apart and clean it -however I was told it would be $95 for a service call and probably about $50 more for labor. I talked with 2 different mgrs. And they told me it was my cleaning problem and not their problem. I feel that it is an engineering defect to have a vent in the top of a door that opens between the glass and has no way to clean it without paying $150 every time a spill occurs. We are very sorry that we purchased and put our faith in LG appliances and then find out that their customer service is so uncaring and uninterested in our problem.
