Crown Communities
Let me start off by saying you get a lot of home for your money. Only problem is when something goes wrong the chances of you getting anything fixed by the builder can be tedious and frustrating!

Construction & Repair

I started having problems within my first year of purchasing the home. Minor things were happening such as nail pops, cracks in trimming, water pressure build up from my kitchen sink, carpets were coming up and some nail pops were coming through the ceilings causing major cracks. Then there were some minor plumbing issues. All these small things were resolved with no problem. When it came to the outer part of the house, this is where my frustrations began. It started with the back yard. First off they build the homes in this neighborhood very low and with lots of hills in the yard. I was told we would have a flat yard when we were purchasing the home, that did not happen. I was pretty upset when it came down to the final purchase. They told me it was because of the county codes that hills needed to be in the yard, so I went with it. After a few months I realized the grounds all around the house were very soft but they assured me it was from the ground settling. I let that go but then after a year the grounds are still soft and then there is water build up when it rains. The worst part is I am getting my neighbor's ground water which legally I am not supposed to be getting. So I complained about this and after several calls and emails they finally had the builder come out just so they could tell me it was denied. I was upset and did follow up with emails They had a second builder come out and he told me otherwise. He saw the problems I had been complaining about and he seemed like he really wanted to help me out. He even had an email sent out that repairs would be done. So this builder was going to help me (so I thought) but then after a few months there were no calls backs, no emails letting me know what the status was. I had other things going on as well such as my back patio pavement cracking in half and the irrigation system having water pressure building up when they are turned on. The pavement was finally done after complaining about this for over a year. I had told them about the pavement during our 1 year walk through and they said they would monitor it instead of fixing it right then and there. It took another year until it completely cracked in half for them to fix it. Mind you, there are cracks all around the front part of my house as well but not as bad as the patio pavement was and they are not willing to fix those anyway. They left a big mess after they fixed the back patio and they added more problems to my yard with machinery that was brought into the yard while fixing the patio (leaving track marks and muddy areas throughout my yard). So I had to get the county involved and they tried to communicate with the builder regarding these problems and now they are giving the county the run around as well. A gentleman from the county advised me to make a state complaint about Crown and I have done so. I have many neighbors that have had problems with their homes but most share the same problem I have, poor landscaping. BUYER BEWARE! You will get a lot for your money but the headaches are not worth it!!!
