Home from Hell

Have a new house (not a home anymore) with excessive differential settling which the structural engineer said he woould expect to see in a house 100 years old. The house is just now about a year old. The builder will not admit that there is differential settling. Due to this settling, we have stress cracks and rutures showing up in the drywall upstairs. The basement wall has many cracks due to the settling. Water seeps in some of the cracks.

The front entry stoop slopes toward the house so when it rains water comes into the basement.

The siding nails have been air driven into so hard the nails are recessed below the surface without proper caulking.

Our building inspector has sited several roofing issues which the builder is not admitting to.

There are many other issues which the builder disputes. He says he builds to the local codes so everything that is happening is acceptable.
