Ripoff would not fix defective airconditioning or heating unit, rude on phone

Four Seasons Heating and Cooling installed an air conditioning unit in our home. We used it for 3 months the first year and the next year we turned on the unit to discover that there wasn't any cold air coming out of the vents. We called a repair man from a different company and he discovered that there was absolutely no free-on in the unit - it was completely empty. He said to call the company that installed the unit, so we did. I told four seasons that it was found that there wasn't any freeon in the unit which meant there was either a leak or just shotty workmanship.

They refused to come out to fix it saying that "we probably used the air conditioner too much and that it wasn't their fault that we received a defective unit." He then proceeded to tell me that freeon had to be filled every year (which is an absolute lie) and that he wouldn't pay to replace the unit because "I should have called him before the freeon leaked out." - I was taken back at the fact that they think that a consumer could actually know that a gas is leaking out of an air conditioning unit when it is the dead of winter and that even though he knew that the unit was defecive he did not want to take responsibility for what they installed. I told him that I would never use his company again and he told me that he was glad to lose a customer. I couldn't believe my ears.
