7 years ago, I purchased a new heating System from Sears. Since then, I have had problems with either the indoor furnance or the outside Heatpump every summer and winter. I bought this system to help and save energy, but it has wound up costing me more because I need to rely on the electric furnance most of the time. Out of the 7 years I have owned this system, it has probably only ran about 5 of them. I was told today that I now need to replace the compressor in the Heat pump because the motor has shorted out. $1200.00 later and another 10 days relying on the electric furnance. I have always been a customer of Sears, but probably not anymore. If anyone reading this is thinking about buying a Kenmore Heat pump, please think twice. If you do, make sure you buy the extended warranty, because you will need it.
