Ripoff dishonest

I have been with American Home Shield for many years & have had problems with them. I kept thinking that I needed to keep the ins. For when something major happened. My central air cond. Went out in a record heat wave we were (are) having. They sent a repair man who claimed it was not covered because I did not have regular maintenance on it. I complained and told them I paid several hundred dollars in June for regular maintenance (this was August)& I had the bill to prove it.

American Home Shield sent out an expert 2nd opinion person of theirs and he said the first company lied and just did not want to have to repair an air cond. On a 2nd story roof in this heat so they just took the $40 I had to pay and claimed it was dirty. He said it was NOT dirty and AHS needed to cover it & he see's way to many of these by AHS contractors.

AHS said they would cover it and they were sending the lst company back out.instead, the lst company did NOT come to make the repair but to just spend a long time on my roof & then claimied they were only there to take pictures to prove it was dirty & had not been maintained.

I had already had a private contractor look at it and CONFIRM that my air cond. Had been maintained and was clean. I had American Home Shield's expert 2nd opinion person who had come and said the SAME thing. Now they send back the company that knows they had been caught lying and all of a sudden they are on the roof for a long time and claim they have pictures of it being dirty and not serviced. I have the service bill to further prove it had been serviced. I had told AHS I did NOT want this company coming to my home to make the repair because I did not trust them now that they knew they had been caught lying about why my unit did not work. AHS told me I HAD to have them back, like it or not, because they get a chance to check what the 2nd opinion person said.

AHS now refused to cover my air cond. Because they are going with what the original contractor claimed instead of what their own expert 2nd opinion person said or what the company I had look at it said, or even the proof of the service months prior by an air cond. Company. This is an expensive repair and they just do not want to have to pay for it. I was suprised to find this site and fine that they do this very same thing to others and they handle it the same way by ignoring their own 2nd opionion experts if it means they would have to make repairs. We are still in a heat wave and they are refusing to make the repair. From what I have seen on this site, it would appear they have a real scam going with people paying for insurance that will not be there when they have a major expensive problem.
