Ripoff in the purchase of mattress and box springs

I purchased a 5-piece dinette set and a mattress with box springs on 7/15. I did receive same day delivery because I demanded what I paid for to be delivered before 5:00pm. They arrived shortly before.

The so called box springs was a fake imitation. Two days later, I sat on the bed and heard a crack. Turned the box springs over, it was broken in several pieces, and found that it was a cardboard box with a mattress cover over it, and made with particle board.

The mattress has wires coming out all over the place. The broken pieces of the cardboard box has made the mattress look like it is an old lumpy thing that came from a used store.

On the same day I put an entire bedroom suite on layaway which was to be delivered on Friday of that week. The next morning after I had found that I was ripped off, I went back to the store to complain. I was told that a replacement will be delivered with the bedroom suite.

Friday arrived and I called about 1:00 pm to ask when my bedroom suite was going to be delivered. The employee said he was sorry but the bedroom suite wasn't on the transfer truck because it was sold at another location.

I went back to American Freight immediately after I got off the phone to cancel the order. While I was there, the employee tried to sell me a bedroom suite which costs more. I didn't have the money for that one, so the bedroom suite I wanted was on display and he tried to sell me that one. The chester drawers had a large whole in the back and he said I could use it until a new bedroom suite arrived.

I had them refund my money back to my debit card. But, the cash I used for the layaway had to be sent by check from the corporate office. The refund is back in my bank account. And still waiting for the check to arrive.

It is August 3rd, and I am still waiting for a replacement of the cardboard box. I told them I wanted a real box springs with real springs in them. I have took pictures of this box for proof of being ripped off.

I can say that the dinette set was the only good purchase that I had made there.
