Ripoff sold me a bad product

Don't trust Home Depot. They will rip you off if they think you'll just go away. I ordered roof trusses through them and even paid a few hundred dollars more than the lowest bid, because I thought if something goes wrong then Home depot will make them fix it. You know "You can do it we can help".

Their company did NOT design my trusses to the known South Florida Building Code. My Inspector would not pass the trusses. Their company made a minor repair that they thought would suffice but they still did not bring them up to Code.

I COMPLAINED all the way to corporate in Atlanta. They stated that since I did not hire someone to check their engineers work and I signed for it, it's now my problem. I paid their engineer $12,000 dollars to design them properly. Their own paperwork states that they are responsible for proper engineering! If they were competent they would have followed the known Code.

In the last two years I have spent over $40,000 with Home Depot only to have them turn their backs on me. I had to spend about $5,000 to fix the trusses to Code.

Through talking to other people I have heard many, many other similar situations. They figure you'll probably go away, and for every one customer they loose five new ones walk in the door. I was told this from a manager who got sick of Home Depot and quit to work for another company.

I am taking my next $40,000 plus across the street to Lowes! Don't trust home depot!!!
