Ripoff Company Refuses to Pay for Repairs

Company refuses to pay for repairs to my heating system because they claim the unit was not installed to building code. They are using the "Limits of Liability" clause in the warranty as their basis not to pay for the repairs. This is unfair because I did not have a copy of their warranty at the time I purchased my condominium in May.

It is impossible for a buyer to know if major systems (AC/Heating, electrical, plumbing, etc) are installed to code prior to purchasing a home. This company is aware of this and they continue to sell warranties knowing that the buyer has not had an opportunity to review any of the warranty clauses.

As a consumer, I feel I have done all that is reasonably expected before making a purchase. I walked through the property and hired a licensed home inspector. The inspector found nothing wrong with the heating unit. The unit worked fine for the previous owner and it stopped working on 2/7/06.

They are a legalized criminal organization that robbs the consumer out of money under the guise of a warranty. Consumers buy this warranty in good faith expecting the company to pay legitimate claims. This company knows nothing of good faith. When they get a claim, it appears their first course of action is to find a way to get out of paying for repairs. This is wrong and they should be out of business.
