No refund on non-working part

My spouse requested a NETGEAR Push2TV Adapter out of this organization to see Netflix through our Computer. We've a contemporary Computer and Television and that I am computer-savvy but couldn't obtain the system to function. I expected for an RMA to come back but was declined since the product was bought in November. I'd described it had been a Holiday present.

Merchant wouldn't take return of (perhaps) defective products since the product was bought 8 weeks preceding?
