Engine Seized After Oil Change and Used Engine Offered

My daughter got her oil changed at Wal-Mart. After driving 20 miles the oil had leaked out and the engine seized up. Wal-Mart's agent, Claims Management, admitted responsibility after an examination by a Wal-Mart employee and said they would fix the engine.

After receiving a quote from Saturn to provide a rebuilt engine they instructed Saturn to install a used engine CMI had found in a junkyard. They claim that this constituted fair restitution since my daughter's engine was used. How ridiculous. They made this specious argument that if they rebuilt the existing engine it would be better than the engine was prior to Wal-Mart's obvious incompetence. The engine should be restored, not replaced with a "junker" of unknown suitability.
