Makes excuses to not accept credit card LDW insurance so can sell you their overpriced insurance

I arrived as a foreigner with a reservation for a car that stated I did not need their LDW if I had a gold Visa credit card with coverage.

At time of rental I provided my credit card and written proof of this insurance, but they did not accept it, saying that it did not meet their requirements, which by admission are arbitrary. Another American couple was told their proof would also not be accepted at the same time because they wanted to rent a frame minivan, which required another insurance. Bottom line: they always have an "excuse". Writing to Dollar basically admitted they have no control over this affiliate and they do not want to correct the misjustice.

Classic bait with a low rental price, only to add overpriced LDW at the time of rental. Unfortunately, all the walk up rates at the airport are high so cannot comparison shop at that stage anymore.
