Suzuki does not honor their warranty

I have a 2004 Suzuki Aerio that I purchased new. It has had many problems some fixed by the dealer others not. But the worst is that at 92k miles the engine went and Suzuki refuses to fix it under warranty. On top of that the dealer made be pay ~$200 to take the engine apart (remove oil pan and valve cover) to find a reason that they would not cover it under warranty.

After numerous calls and letters to American Suzuki Motor Corporation they stand by their decision not to cover the failure. They never put a reason in writing because they know it is a load of bull. The dealer said that Suzuki refused the work because I ran the car out of oil. They claim this because their was some oil around the filter. It may have had a small leak but it never ran out of oil. After towing the car home at my expense I looked at it with two friend who are Engineers as I am but they both worked as professional mechanics before going back to school to get their engineering degrees. We found two problems: First, the number 3 piston skirt is broken the skirt never touches any surface so friction is not a problem so oil or not that would not happen even if the engine did not have oil. The second problem was that a stationary bracket that the Overhead cam drive chain slaps against was broken and floating around. What we did not find was bad bearings, scoring on the cylinder walls, or any other evidence that the engine seized up.

Suzuki has now evidence to back up their claim. I have the proof but they refuse to revisit it. Because they have all of the power they do what they want. I also had other smaller problems that they would not take care of but this was the last straw.

My advice is to never buy a Suzuki product. We have had other bad cars before but the manufacture always stood behind it to the letter of their warranty.
